Administration, Leadership, Management - Business, Government and Social

Business Administration, Military Administration, Public Administration- Linkages

In the discussion of generalists versus specialists, persons who study administration are to be categorized as generalists. No doubt some of them specialize in certain functions of a business enterprise or government but all of the aspire to be chief executive officers of the entire organization one day, and in that ambition they are all generalists especially when they as a group are compared with scientists, historians etc.

There are institutes of business administration. There are institutes of public administration. There are some institutions that are offering programs for both business as well as public administration under the same roof. Probably such an arrangement utilizes the common knowledge effectively and efficiently and also brings out better understanding between private business managers and public administrators regarding their respective contribution to the well-being of society.
