CPSU - Communist Party of Soviet Union - Eligibility for Membership and Duties

Authors

This knol is developed to understand how a political party defines its membership rules and specifies duties of its members. I shall make efforts to find similar information of other political parties of vaiours countries. These knols provide additional material for the my knol collection on managing political party.

The first requirement to  make a person eligible to party membership is that he recongnize the party programme and state his readiness to struggle for a communist society.

With true communists words and deeds are never at variance. The party member must be ready to carry out all party decisions. The party member is fighter who is always ready to fulfil any assignment of the organization.

Every member has to contribute materially to the party.

The CPSU rules ask party members to implement firmly the party's general line and directives. party members have to explain the CPSU's internal and foreign policy. They have to organize the working people for its implementation. Party members have to work for strengthening and expansion of the party's ties with the people.

Economic Duty of CPSU Members

It is the duty of a party member to set up an example in diligent work. He has to work persistently for higher production efficiency, for a steady growth of labour productivity and better quality of products and for application of modern achievements in science and technology in the country's economy. He has to upgrade his professional skills and actively champion all that is new and progressive, and make the greatest possible contribution to accelerating the country's socio-economic development.

Political Duty of Members

Members have to take an active part in the political life of the country

Education

Members have to master Marxist-Leninist Theory.

Communist Morality

Members have abide strictly by the norms of communist morality and have to assert the principle of social justice which is innate in socialism. They have to put social interests above personal ones, have to display modesty and decency, responsiveness and attentiveness to people. They have to be truthful to the party and the people.
